Whats the deal?
Today, standardized testing is something every child needs to participate in and every school must administer. Although, it has not always been integrated into America’s schools. Standardized testing’s rise in popularity is rather recent and America has hastily integrated these tests into its public schools, causing harm to the children who need education and the schools trying to provide it.
About This websiteThe purpose of this website is to inform you about the problems and benefits of standardized testing and how we can create a better education system. Throughout the website you will find background information on standardized testing, problems and advantages with standardized testing, and solutions to better the education system.

message from the AuthorHello,
My name is Andrew Fick and I am a student at the University of Maryland. I am currently taking English 101 with the great professor Lyra Hilliard. Throughout my childhood I always dreaded taking standardized tests, but I did not know much about them. After initial research I learned that there were many other people that were against standardized testing and there were a lot of problems with the system. Initially, I started this project not liking standardized testing but after my research I've learned about its biases and negative effects on education and formed a more advanced opinion on how they can be fixed. All semester I have been researching problems and solutions with standardized testing and my final assignment is this website. My goal is to inform you about my studies this semester so hopefully we can reform standardized tests to become a more fair system. Thank you for reading! Sincerely, Andrew |
